About StoneField
StoneField is the nickname of a soccer field in Calabar, a beautiful southeastern
Nigerian city watered by rivers and creeks flowing in from the Delta.
Located in the heart of the community where Edikan, the founder and CEO of
StoneField Entertainment Group (SEG), was born, StoneField serves as a sports center
where youths in the neighborhood come to exercise, train, and play soccer.
No one is fully respected as a soccer player until they have proven themselves on
“StoneField”. It is a place that nurtures talent and gives people new heights to conquer.
It is a place where soccer players learn to think and dream big. Knowing they have the support
of the community, players seek to extend themselves and to find the best in their work.
Friends, families, and entire communities look forward to soccer games at StoneField.
As they cheer for the players and watch a family member or a friend or a neighbor display rare
talent or prove himself, spectators feel the beauty of what they all share and what glues them
together as a people. After the games, spectators and players often mingle and share jokes, news,
stories, aspirations—their lives—with one another. That’s why StoneField is viewed as more than just a soccer field.
It is the tie that connects the people and transcended all the differences—social class, ethnicity,
gender, etc— that set them apart. StoneField is a place that brings out the best in all, whether player
or spectator, and a place where everyone finds peace, comfort, and enlightenment in sharing a common experience.
It is this same vision of bridging gaps by paying homage to talent and excellence that informs Edikan’s work with SEG.
The company hopes to foster the discovery and promotion of talent in the fields of art and entertainment.
By providing a space where these talents can be nurtured and showcased, StoneField Entertainment will not just draw
members of the community together but will also call on all to celebrate the ties that bind us all.

Edikan "Edy" Bassey is the mastermind behind the StoneField Project. Born in Calabar, a beautiful city that lies on the path of the Calabar River in southeastern Nigeria, Edikan has never forgotten his love for his home and the value for community that his Efik father and Igbo mother instilled in him. The blend of cultures that characterized Edikan’s upbringing has continued to inform his sense of artistic mission as he seeks new and innovative ways of using his American education and Nigerian experience as resources in promoting African culture in the form of entertainment through music, stage plays, documentaries, movies, shows, etc.
After a first degree in Industrial Engineering, Edikan is pursuing an MBA as a step towards his goal of managing and promoting African arts and entertainment culture in the United States and around the world. His love and commitment towards artistic creativity is the result of nearly a decade’s experience in the performing art, whether as director, producer, and writer of stage plays or as founder, choreographer, and dancer of the sensational African all-male dance ensemble called Mambo (also known as “Mambo Boyz”).
StoneField Entertainment Group (SEG), a performing arts-centered company he created on October 1st, 2008, is a creative outlet through which he hopes to give back to his community both in the United States and in Africa. Recent years has seen an increase in African contributions to the international entertainment scene and Edikan sees StoneField Entertainment Group taking advantage of this global interest in African culture to establish itself as a leading entertainment company.
